Brian Wagner

CTO of Revenir, & Former Head of Compliance in Financial Services for AWS
Brian Wagner, with over 20 years in the tech industry, is a renowned security visionary and former Head of Compliance EMEA at Amazon Web Services. Currently the CTO of Revenir, he was previously at Bulletproof and Defense.com, and has significant expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and technology transformations. A celebrated speaker, Brian has presented at major events like AWS Re:Invent and for the Financial Conduct Authority, sharing insights on encryption strategies and GDPR compliance.

Nicolas Yiallouros

Senior Security Specialist, Microsoft
Nicolas Yiallouros has over 10 years of professional experience in various multinational companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Bloomberg. At Microsoft, he is the security sales lead for corporate accounts in Greece, Malta and Cyprus. He has worked on numerous digital transformation projects in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, utilizing cloud technologies.

In recent years, he has developed a strong interest in cybersecurity and has supported organizations in their transition to modern platform-based solutions. He firmly believes that technology can act as a catalyst for achieving corporate goals, especially if we integrate cybersecurity and data protection into the initial design of digitization.

His goal is to provide highly secure digital tools that can help connect people wherever they are, to encourage productivity, engagement, and collaboration. Nicolas holds a Master's degree in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Nottingham.

Insp. Clive Brimmer

Inspector - Financial Crimes Unit, Malta Police Force
Clive Brimmer began his policing career in 2000, specializing in forensics, particularly fingerprints and quality management. After 21 years of service, he was promoted to Police Inspector in 2021. He spent a year in Malta overseeing quality management at the Police Forensic Science Lab before joining the Financial Crime Investigation Department in 2022, focusing on combatting online fraud.

Christian Bajada

Head of Information Security, BMIT
Christian Bajada is the Head of Information Security Services at BMIT with 15 years of experience working in Information Security. He headed the Information Security function in several industries including gaming, telcos, payment processing, government entities and software development organisations.

As a programmer at heart, he is passionate in the area of application security and penetration testing, delivering several sessions on the topic at the ISACA Malta Chapter.

Christian holds an M.Sc in Information Security (Royal Holloway), and an M.Sc in Digital Ledger and Blockchain Technology (University of Malta) as well as industry certifications including CISA and OSCP.

Dr Ian Gauci

Managing Director, GTG
Dr Ian Gauci is the Managing Director of GTG. He advises multiple government bodies and is one of the key figures on technology law matters. He is also an international speaker, lecturer and author. Dr Gauci is recognised as a Tier 1 leading individual in Fintech and Intellectual Property by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500.

Dione Vella

Chief Digital and Compliance Officer, BMIT
Dione started off his career at MITTS Ltd (now MITA) in 1995 were he spent 6 years in various roles including that of a Project Leader responsible for the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM). He was also a Technical Analyst handling complex ICT designs and implementation projects such as the first E-Gov framework launched in Malta.

Amongst other achievements, Dione has worked on various Data Centres implementations, large scale and complex ICT/Telecom related projects with the biggest corporations in Malta like BOV, HSBC and others.

Dione holds an MSc in Networking Technologies and Management from Sheffield Hallam University and Industry certificates in ITIL and PRINCE2.

Prof. André Xuereb

Founder, Merqury Cybersecurity
André Xuereb is professor of quantum physics at the University of Malta, where he established the quantum research group. He read for an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics at the University of Malta, a PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Southampton in the UK, and a master’s degree in entrepreneurship at the University of Malta; he is currently reading for a master’s degree in diplomacy. Since 2020 André is also Malta’s Ambassador for Digital Affairs. Outside diplomatic and academic life, he is Chief Scientific Officer of a sustainable mobility start-up and founder of a quantum cybersecurity startup. He is married to a lawyer and is the proud father of two girls and a boy.
